Student Volunteers

Become a Student Volunteer. Last day for application Friday 16 May 2008 (deadline passed)

*You can no longer apply for Student Volunteers. All that applied have been informed whether they were selected*

Being a student volunteer is a great way for young researchers to establish a network within the HCI community. We are looking for 10 - 15 students who want to participate and contribute to the conference.

As a student volunteer, you will get free conference registration at the conference (but travel expenses and accommodation are not covered). You are expected to help out with practical matters during the conference, which means you'd work 50 % of the time during the conference.

Qualifications

Volunteers are registered as undergraduate, Master's, or Ph.D. students during the 2007-2008 academic year.

Deadline and notification

Please apply before Friday 16 May 2008 (passed). In the second half of May, 10-15 student volunteers will be selected and notified.

Application details

You can apply in one of two ways.

  1. During registration as a Student attendee for MobileHCI 2008, you can tick a box and answer a few questions to apply for a Student Volunteer position. If you are selected, your conference fee will be refunded.
  2. Send an e-mail with an application to our Student Volunteer Chair, Pieter Jan Stappers, at volunteers@mobilehci2008.org, with the following information:
  • Contact Information (Address, Country, Email, Day Phone, E-mail)
  • Experience (Prior volunteer activities for example)
  • Languages Spoken
  • Affiliation (School & Department)
  • What work (if any) you will be presenting at MobileHCI 2008
