Final Camera-ready Version Submission

Authors of accepted submissions (Full Papers, Short Papers, Workshop Abstracts, Poster Abstracts, Demonstration Abstracts, Panel Abstracts, Industrial Case Studies Doctoral Consortium Abstracts and Student Design Competition Design Documents) should submit a final camera-ready version of their accepted submission together with a copyright form via the MobileHCI 2008 Conference Review System (CRS).

Final Camera-ready Version

For instructions how to format your final camera-ready version of your submission, see the Formatting Instructions page.

Metadata

Please make sure that the metadata (e.g. title, authors) in the OpenConf form (that you have used for your earlier submission) is consistent with the information in the camera ready version. Additional metadata (e.g. Categories & Subject Descriptors) can be inserted into the "Benefits Statement" field.

General Terms

Keywords
(Even if your final camera-ready version of your submission does not include keywords in the body, you should specify keywords during submission to make your e-publication better searchable. )

References
(ACM would like to collect the references/citations used within your paper in straight clean text, so these can be used to enhance the capabilities of the ACM Digital Library.)

Signed Copyright Form

Please download, fill out, date and sign the proper copyright form for your submission category. For Full Papers and Short Papers, we need a dated and signed* ACM MobileHCI 2008 Copyright Transfer form. For accepted submissions from other tracks that appear in the MobileHCI 2008 supplementary proceedings, we need a dated and signed ACM MobileHCI 2008 Permission and Release form.

*Note: Only one form is usually needed and can be signed by the first or contact author. A second form may be requested from co-authors depending on any US government affiliations.

U.S. Government employees or contractors

Please contact proceedings@mobilehci2008.org for the correct copyright statement and information for your submission. You will need to supply us the name of each author, their affiliations, and which program (Microsoft Word or LaTeX) you are using to produce your submission to receive the proper copyright statement and information.

What to Upload

You should upload one zip file, containing multiple files:

Signed and Dated Copyright Form

You should include a signed and dated copyright form for your submission in the zip file. Please check in the table above that you used the right form for your submission category.

Portable Document Format (.pdf) file

We need a properly produced .pdf file of your final camera-ready submission according to ACM specifications (see the Formatting Instructions page). In case your .pdf file does not comply with ACM specifications, we will try to create one based on source files that you also have to submit (see below) using Acrobat Distiller and Distiller settings for ACM Proceedings. We will then use the resulting .pdf file for the proceedings. Please check that your submission adheres to the set page limit for your type of submission (see table above).

Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx) file

If you used Microsoft Word to produce your submission, you should also include the .doc or .docx file of the final camera-ready version of your submission.

PostScript (.ps) file

If you used LaTeX to produce your submission, you should also include a .ps file (production of a .pdf file according to ACM specifications based on.tex files has often turned out to be problematic). If you used Microsoft Word to produce your submission, we do NOT need a .ps file.

LaTex (.tex) file

If you used LaTeX, we also need one self-contained .tex document with all text, and all references from the .bbl file. We need the .tex file only to extract metadata for e-publications. We will not recompile your submission, so we do NOT need multiple files from your source directory, neither do we need figures.

File Naming Scheme

The names of the files IN the zip file should be named as follows:

(track code)(paper ID)-(firstauthorlastname).(extension)

Where all characters are in lower case and paper ID should always be 3 positions.

The copyright form(s) should be named as follows:
(track code)(paper ID)-(authorlastname)-copyright.pdf

For example, if your submission track is Full Papers, your paper ID is 3, you used LaTeX to produce your submission and your last name is "Ter Hofte", we request that you name the files in the zipfile as follows:
fp003-terhofte.pdf
fp003-terhofte.ps
fp003-terhofte.tex
fp003-terhofte-copyright.pdf

Another example, if your submission track is Posters, your paper ID is 12, you used Microsoft Word to produce your submission and your last name is "Smith", we request that you name the files in the zip file as follows:
ps012-smith.pdf
ps012-smith.doc
ps012-smith-copyright.pdf

You are free to choose the name of the zip file itself, since the MobileHCI 2008 Conference Review System (CRS) will rename it anyway.

Acknowledgement of Receipt

You will receive an immediate and automatic acknowledgment of receipt of your upload. Due to the volume of submissions, it may take a few days to two weeks for us to process and check your submission and signed forms manually. Submissions that do not conform to the ACM and MobileHCI 2008 specifications will be returned to the author for corrections.

Questions

If you have questions about these submission instructions, please contact proceedings@mobilehci2008.org.

Acknowledgements

These instructions are based on submission instructions from Sheridan Printing for other ACM conferences.

Initial Submission

** Initial submission of the tracks mentioned below is closed. **

In MobileHCI 2008 all initial submissions and reviewer applications for the technical program were also handled through the MobileHCI 2008 Conference Review System (CRS). This implied that submissions for the conference tracks: Full Papers, Short Papers, Demonstrations, Student Design Competition, Doctoral Consortium, Panels, Posters, Workshops and Industrial Case Studies follwed the same submission procedure.

The submission procedure consisted of the following steps (reviewers are refered to step 2 only):

1) Prepare your submission using the formatting instructions. Please check the specific formatting instructions per conference track you want to contribute to. Make sure you follow these instructions (e.g. anonymous, page length) in order to submit a valid contribution.

2) Create an account using the MobileHCI 2008 CRS. Note that only one such account is needed for multiple submissions (be it for one or several conference tracks). During your registration with the CRS, you will receive an email with important usage instructions. Please keep this email for your record.

3) Upload your contribution using the links in the CRS. All documents should be submitted in PDF format. If your submission contains both a document and a video file then both should be packed in one ZIP file. You are kindly requested to test for valid files before uploading. The CRS will recode the filename in order to make it anonymous for the review phase.

Depending on the phase of the conference preparation you will be able to modify and re-upload the contribution. Please consult both the general deadline overview and the track specific deadlines. Late submissions will not be accepted.
